Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti Praises “Pikë Uji / Waterdrop”: “A profound social drama that expands public sensitivity”

The film “Pikë Uji / Waterdrop”, directed by Robert Budina and written by Budina in collaboration with Doruntina Basha and Ajola Daja, has received high praise from the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti. In a social media post, Kurti shared his impressions of the work, describing it as a dark social drama that captures reality with rare sensitivity.

Kurti emphasized that the film builds a deeply emotional canvas through its narration of crime and despair, while revealing the impact of political and class domination on people’s lives. “‘Pikë Uji’ is about something we think we know, yet must still understand,” he wrote, adding that bringing this story to the big screen inevitably expands the public’s awareness and turns art into a tool for social reflection.

Film producer Sabina Kodra highlighted that Kosovo has always been a shelter of artistic and human support, thanking Kosovar collaborators such as Doruntina Basha, Gresa Pallaska, Astrit Kabashi, Luan Kryeziu, Blerta Zeqiri, and QKK for their invaluable contribution. “A country where the prime minister loves art and artists is a country where I want to live. This is our Kosovo – a place that values culture and creativity,” she concluded.
